This award is given to the volunteer who has given up their free time to volunteer in sport in a non coaching capacity. Sport in Britain depends on volunteers and these people help to sustain sporting opportunities for all. This award is proudly sponsored by Places for People.

Vicki has worked tirelessly to turn Fulledge colts FC around from a club that had no organisation or structure, to a club that is thriving. Vicki’s achievements with the club include the development of a female section and female coaching pathway. Creating opportunities for over 30 females to play each week and increasing the amount of female coaches at the club by 4.

Vicky is a former competitive swimmer at Barracudas who has now developed into an extremely effective team manager organising 3 teams for the club. She has been a valuable member of the volunteer force for 11 years – even marriage, moving home and baby haven’t got in the way! Not many people will volunteer for this long when the don’t have children of their own participating in the sessions too.

Yunes volunteers at Preston on Wheels, a cycling project set up with a focus on supporting physical and mental health improvement through community based cycling activities. He has supported the project for 8 years since it started back in 2009. He has helped to assist and lead on rides and sessions and has helped promote the project both in the community and at events and taken on the project co-coordinator role, a role that was once funded.
