Coach of the Year 2016

This award is made to the coach who has given up their time and invested their expertise, selflessly, to help those interested in sport to develop their talent and to realise their full potential.

Yaqoob Hussain MBE

Yaqoob is a local sports coach, volunteer, community work and England boxing level 3 coach, he has worked tirelessly to provide a level playing field for all. Th club has helped not just the Asian community to participate in sport but engaged the whole community to work together and bring community cohesion to the forefront.

Peter Doyle

Peter first became involved with Cadley FC 10 years ago when as an active parent he was aked if he would be willing to help establish a girl’s side in conjunction with  another coach. Peter has been instrumental in developing Cadley FC’S development Plan which seeks to grow the football club and enable them to offer more footballing opportunities to more girls in the area.

Winner: Simon Ardron

As a club coach to primarliy two tennis clubs Simon gets no funding from the clubs but uses the facilities to promote the sport and draw children into clubs to play tennis.  He has been consistently involved in imporving and expanding the membership of St. Michaels on Wyre Tennis Club. Links have been developed with the local schools and tennis tournaments take place accross the area.
