Places for People support Lancashire’s Adult Volunteers

We are delighted to welcome Places for People on board for the 2016 Lancashire Sports Awards as sponsor of the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award.

Places for People are one of the largest property and leisure management, development and regeneration companies in the UK. They own or manage over 150,000 homes and have assets in excess of £3 billion. Customers are at the heart of everything we do. We’ve been building homes since 1965, and today we create award-winning developments.

Places for People do more than just homes. Our place making approach means that we consider the infrastructure and services, like shops, schools, leisure facilities, transport links and healthcare facilities. We provide support services to more than 7,000 people and the leisure centres attract around 30 million visits every year.

“We have recently gone into partnership with Lancashire Sports through our Homechoice initiative and are embarking on a number of initiatives in Lancashire to improve wellbeing in our communities. We chose to sponsor the “Adult volunteer award” as we understand how important volunteers are delivering local activities especially in the communities they live in. They really make a massive difference to people’s lives and are often the unsung heroes.”
